Apparently I'm Doing SOMETHING Right in this Job Search!

"Blog your way to a better career" is a recent article from CNN. Thank you CNN, don't mind if I do! Pew Research found that people who blog are generally higher earners [yes!], Jobvite shows that people who use social media to aid in the job search end up finding jobs that are a better fit, and LinkedIn has added features that enable its users to simulate blogging right on their site.

Blogging is almost synonymous with resumes these days because it shows you are keeping up with what's happening in your field, or the field you desire to be in. Some people, like myself, even include links to their blogs from their resume. Check out my post on tech-savvy resumes.

Think you don't have time to blog? Blogger has a great feature where you can delay your posts. So for instance, right now, I'm writing this and many other new posts on Saturday, [I'm really cool, I know.] yet this won't be public until Monday. Not every blogger blogs everyday either, a couple updates a week will do just fine.
