Many brands have a particular symbol or logo that make their brand recognizable even if there are no words connected to it. For example, the Nike swoosh, the Target bullseye, and the Mac Apple. While not a logo, the famous fashion designer Christian Louboutin's shoes are instantly recognizable to most women. The soles of all Christian Louboutin shoes are painted bright red- Pantone 187C to be exact. That red sole makes his shoes distinctive and sought after. While these shoes are upwards of $600, any woman who calls herself a fashionista secretly yearns for them.
To be successful in this tough economy, your brand has to stand for something- luxury, affordability, or quality, to name just a few. Narrowing down what your company stands for into a single sentence is going to be difficult, no doubt, but it will produce great results. And stick to it, don't waver! The closer you get to that one defining sentence, the closer you'll be to realizing your company's enormous potential.
